Listeners are worn as a posture of discernment, attentiveness, and wisdom.
Before action comes hearing.
Before release comes listening.
In Scripture, obedience is always preceded by attention—“Hear…” is the first invitation of faith. Listeners honor that sacred order.
1 Samuel 17:33-37
Saul replied, ‘You are not able…’ But David said to Saul, ‘Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep… The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.’”
We listen to the Fear of our camp
We listen to the doubt of our leaders
We listen to inward sacred memory of what the Divine has already done.
Listening precedes courage
Discernment precedes action
